Firearms & Fro-yo

first off, editing and formatting photo's takes a freaking LONG time. anyway, tonight my father and i made our way to the Orem Rec Center for a much needed daddy-daughter date.

as you can tell from my photo's, we went shooting.

armed with a .22 rifle and a .22 pistol, we entered the range. a rather cute, old, Santa Claus resembling man helped us get set up. after donning the necessary ear and eye protection,
i decided i needed a picture for my blog post. i asked the old man to take it. he agreed
and after complimenting me on my hair, he made a joke about my dad and i being
married. can i just say? sick. that's super super super super super super super
super super super super super super super super *deep breath* super
super super super super super super super super super super super
gross.

don't you love my shades? dad whipped these babies out and i was instantly in love.
shooting can be fashion friendly.

dad placated my neediness for pictures and took these, and i didn't even have to ask!

i killed those targets.
side-note for single women:
the shooting range is a GREAT place to find attractive, eligible men.
also, they know how to shoot big and obnoxiously loud guns which means they can protect you.
definite plus.

the shots not exactly on the bulls-eye are obviously my dad's shots.
pshh, obviously.

after the shooting range we made our way to the best frozen yogurt joint in Utah county:

Yogurtland

we piled a plethora of flavors and toppings into our too-small containers.

(tip: toasted coconut and pistachio with fruit is the best combination)

"it was totes the best hun-cal fro-yo"

name that video.

we finished the night by making faces while waiting at stop lights.

a very successful "date" and mucho-needed bonding time.
spring break is lovely.

A Culinary Expedition

Once upon a time,
i LOVE to cook and bake.
yesterday was my pseudo mother's birthday so i thought i would whip up my famous
Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies.
Classic.

basically, i am the worst blogger ever. it has been nearly a month since my last post.
i think like a blogger, it's just my execution that is suffering.

but trust me, i take enough pictures to hang with the blogger crowd.
i am a picture whore.

when i bake or cook, and i'm alone, i like to pretend that i am on my very own cooking show.

it's one of my guilty pleasures, judge me.

i go the whole nine yards: lame jokes, giving little tips, and talking to my "viewers."

it's fun. i dare you to try it.

you also must know that i am very particular when it comes to cookies with chocolate chips.

there is a very specific chip-to-dough ratio.

i like to estimate it at 3:1

the catch is that if there's not chocolate in every bite, i am not satisfied.

last night was one of the best batches i have ever made.
i can taste the spices: check
chocolate chip-to-dough ratio: check
baked to perfection: check
you can always tell when you add the pumpkin whether or not the batch will turn out right.

i was a little worried about how the pumpkin was blending but my worries were in vain.

the family LOVES them.

i'll probably have to make more tomorrow.

this is my brother, jaden.

he likes to pose with me.

and flex his muscles.

he cracks me up.

breaks are nice.
